A few goals for October

October!  Such a glorious month!  Here are a few goals for this month:

* Post in this blog as often as possible
* Post in my Christmas blog as often as possible
* Continue planning for family birthday gifts and crafting any handmade ones
* Continue reading through the One-Year Chronological Bible
*  Continue with the book Fix Your Focus for my Sunday Scripture series
* Continue studying and preparing for my ladies' Sunday School class
* Finish up the wonderful Daily Grace Co. study of Habakkuk, Even If (this is intended to be a 3-week study; it has taken me months since I only work on it on Saturdays -- and not every Saturday at that)
* Continue stocking my Etsy shop and continue selling vintage items
* Write at least 4 encouraging notes to friends and family
* Keep up with Flylady's zones of the week
* Help and encourage my local daughter as I'm able
* Plan meals with a greater emphasis on healthy eating
* Attend our monthly Ladies of Grace meeting
* Spend quality time at our little camp; plan some staycation time
* Get to bed by 8:30 each night we are at home
* Drink enough water each day
* Resume the habit of getting outdoors for the morning light
* Walk and/or exercise at least 4 times each week
* Help with our church's outreach at the local outdoor market
* Attend a one-day senior retreat at The Wilds of New England
* Enjoy a couples' retreat at the same location -- we are turning this into a getaway
* Spend time at my volunteer job
* Find time for a 7-day home reset
* Take a dinner lake cruise with friends
* Help with a missions emphasis weekend at our church
* Attend a one day Bible conference on a Saturday
* Host friends for tea and discipleship every Wednesday

HEALTHY HABITS FOR OCTOBER:  Drink more water/get more sleep/exercise daily/intermittent fasting/limit carbs/get morning light

As usual, all of this should be more than enough to keep me out of trouble this month!

  1. I totally agree with and love the beginning quote from Anne of Green Gables. As a matter of fact, I also included it in my most recent post! She's a favorite of mine for certain! October is such a beautiful month for you in NH. That's the month we always used to travel up there to spend our grandson's birthday (Oct. 6th) with him and the family and go to the Fryeburg Fair. I really miss those times. He'll be 26 next week, and of course is a grown "man" now and working, so those happy days of his childhood are behind us, but I still long for them. I love that you have The Wilds of NE so close to you and that you are involved so much in the workings of it as well as attending the retreats, etc. there. That sounds wonderful, especially in the fall. I also love that you "host friends for tea and discipleship every Wednesday". I am assuming this is at your house? Is this just for ladies, or are husbands involved as well? It sounds lovely. I also appreciate your wanting to find time for a 7 day home reset...is that a time to just stay home and do things there for a week, or is that a cleaning spree of some kind? You seem to stay so busy, I can imagine finding a whole week to stay home would be difficult for you! I appreciate your lists of goals each month. I try to set goals, but "life" often interrupts my plans and we just have to go with the flow. But no matter which way it goes, we know God is in control and that is the best plan of all. Have a wonderful October. Enjoy it for me! October in Florida is much different than October in NH, but it still has its own beauty...just different and not quite as "cool". :)
