Sew Crafty Friday for May 30

It's been awhile since I posted anything for Sew Crafty Friday. Life has been so busy that I really have done very little crafting in months. But lately I have been finding a few minutes in the evenings to work on my Country Baking cross-stitch sampler. As you can see, I have a good bit of the back-stitching done. Just a few more items to outline in the lower right area, then I have some words to stitch in that book-like area left of center.

How about you? If you have managed to accomplish or even start any crafting this week, then head on over to Waiting for Him and share your projects. Shereen and others will be eager to see what you have to share.

Happy Crafting!

Oh that looks pretty!! I used to cross-stitch all the time!!! A woman I used to babysit for taught me and I used to just LOVE it!!! I have all my floss, but am actually thinking about trying my hand at embroidery! I am going to have to cross-stitch again soon. It used to be so relaxing!!
Looks so nice!!! Thanks for sharing! :) Bridget

  2. Hello, Bridget!

Thanks so much for stopping by my kitchen table, and for your sweet comments about my sampler. I agree, cross-stitch *is* very relaxing, especially when you get to the outlining stage and don't really have to count very much. Embroidery is fun too, though. I enjoy both.

    Stop by anytime!

    God bless,

  3. It really is coming along beautifully. I hope after all that work you have it framed professionally. Michael's always has good deals on framing. You've made a work of art and an heirloom!

  4. What a beautiful job you have done on your cross-stitch pattern! I have bought a kit to do one but have been working on other things right now like sewing a dress for my married daughter and working on an afghan. But I hope to get at the cross-stitch pattern soon. I have never done cross-stitch before so am eagerly awaiting the chance.

I use to do a lot of crewel work and have the pictures framed and in my house. I've done about 5 or 6 of them and I really enjoyed doing crewel work.

I hope you might show this again finished and framed. Beautiful job!

  5. Hello Mom2Fur and Dianne!

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such kind comments. Dianne, I used to do a lot of crewel too, years ago. It was a lot of fun. I gave most of my crewel projects away, but a couple of them came back to me when the recipient passed away. I have given away many cross-stitch projects too, but kept some for myself. If you look at previous Show & Tells, you may see 4 more of my cross-stitched samplers.
I find cross-stitch relaxing and fun, and I hope that you will too.

    Stop by anytime!

    God bless,
    Mrs.T
