Fall Hutch 2016

Just a few simple pictures to show you what's on my fall hutch this year.

The photo above shows the top shelf with my favorite jadeite plates plus a fall teapot I found at Walmart quite a few years ago.  I wanted to incorporate those plates, a recent vintage find, into my fall decorating somehow and I achieved it by plunking a little pumpkin in front of each one.  The little pumpkins are salt and pepper shakers.
The above photo shows the middle and lowest shelves.  The moose pitcher on the bottom left, plus the black and white transferware and the orange and green Fiesta ware salt and pepper shakers are all antiques.  On the middle shelf, the mug at left is a family antique, and the green grapes at right (actually a small covered dish) are also vintage.  The little sunflower is a neat craft made from a wooden spool wrapped with ribbon, with a homespun-trimmed cinnamon stick for a stem and a sunflower glued in place.  I got the maple leaf (Canadian) teacup at a yard sale, the "Thankful" sign from the Wilds of New England.  My mother gave me the little maple-leaf pitcher.  The subway art is something I found on the internet.  See photo below (from 2011, actually) for a closer look.
And then the photo below shows the hutch in its entirety.  It's blurry -- I  had to stand back a ways to get the photo of the entire hutch.  But you get the idea!
Hope you have enjoyed this look at my simple fall hutch.  I'm linking today with Vintage Charm.

  2. I love your hutch. I used to have a hutch in my kitchen at the previous house. I always loved decorating it. I like it when people use the pretties that are personal to them and not all the same things from Hobby Lobby. I have to say I am somewhere in the middle. The jadeite plates look great with their little pumpkins.

    1. I wanted a hutch for years, Sandy, and was so happy when we bought this one from friends who were downsizing.

I agree -- I am somewhere in the middle concerning decorating. I love to use my personal treasures, but I also enjoy finding special items at stores and shops to incorporate. I love finding these sorts of things on clearance sales!
