Show & Tell Friday for March 6

For show & tell this week, I want to show some of my vintage cookbooklets.

These are two of the newer ones I have, from the 1950s.

I love these colorful little booklets. The plaid one is from the 1940s; the other two are undated. Isn't the little rhubarb booklet cute?

Two more. The jams & jellies book is from 1926; the other is undated.

The Cook's Book is from 1924; the Royal Baker is my oldest cookbook. (And it looks well-used, doesn't it?) It was published in 1911. Almost 100 years ago!

And here are the last two for today. These citrus cookbooks are among my very favorites. I love the colorful cover art! One is from 1939 and the other from 1940.

That is my simple Show & Tell for today. To see what others have shared for Show & Tell Friday, head on over to There is No Place Like Home. Happy Show & Tell Friday!

These are really neat, especially the one that is from 1911. I'd love to see the inside of that one!
    I have a few vintage cookbook-lets too.
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Enjoyed looking at your cookbooks. Takes me back to last summer when my cousin and I found a bunch of old canning recipe books for pennies at a yard sale. Thanks for sharing! :o)

  3. Wow! It's hard for me to believe that 1911 is almost 100 years ago. That was a eye opener.

  4. Oh I just love old cookery books. I have lots of them too, my grandmother had a lot of wartime cookery books that reflect the rationing in the UK during WWII. I also have books from my DH's grandmother - they are fascinating. thanks for sharing your collection.

  5. I love the rubarb one. I like to use it in recipes. It's hard to find at times so I always get a lot and freeze it.

  7. You will have to share some of those recipes in the book from 1911 eh? It would be neat to see some from so long ago. Love the collection!

  11. What a nice friendly group around my kitchen table to look at my vintage cookbooklets! It is so nice to have you all here for a visit!

They *are* fun to look through, but I must say the 1911 one is a bit disappointing on the inside. There are no pictures and very little white space. Just recipes, arranged one after another in two columns and in very fine print. It's a bit difficult to read and follow recipes written like that, but it *is* interesting. Some of the others have lovely illustrations, even that "Cook's Book" which looks so plain on the outside.

Stop in at my kitchen table anytime, ladies... I love company.

    God bless,
    Mrs.T
