A few snow and ice pictures

It's been snowing all day, but none of these pictures were taken today.  I guess, though, that the falling snow got me thinking about posting a few snowy pictures taken over the past couple of weeks.  Doesn't that top photo look as if the branches have been flocked with white flocking?  It really surprised me to see real snow coat the branches in that exact way.

These pictures so reminded me of Isaiah 1:18 -- "Come now, let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

I love this verse which speaks so beautifully of God's love, mercy and grace!

In fact, I love it so much that I once stitched a cross-stitch version of it.  I still love this design! And I do apologize for the wonky angle of the photo, but it was the best I could do given the narrowness of the hallway that these samplers are hanging in.
Just a few more snow and ice pictures.  Love the little icicles on these fir trees!  we  have had so much rain this winter, pretty much alternating with the snow, that some days there are icicles in very unusual places.

"He  giveth snow like wool: He scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.  He casteth forth His ice like morsels; who can stand before His cold?" (Psalm 147:16-17)

Hope you've enjoyed this look at winter in these parts!

  1. Yes indeed, I enjoyed all of your snow pictures since I no longer live in Snow Country. I can't say I miss the white stuff but I do enjoy the pictures people are posting from their homes.

The scripture verses put with the pictures are perfect.

I really like the cross stitch piece in your hallway. I love that style of pattern. It looks like something out of Just Cross Stitch magazine from years ago.

    Stay warm!

    1. The cross stitch was from Cross Country, I believe -- also known as Jeremiah Junction. I love their patterns and still have a bunch of the magazines. Hope springs eternal that I will live long enough to stitch them!

  2. Oh Sarah, I do LOVE the cross stitch sampler you made, it is gorgeous! That verse is one of those in the Bible that just grabs my heart every time I hear it, and I feel amazed at His mercy for us once again! And just looking at your beautiful snowy pictures, isn't snow just the most amazing thing... it makes all things beautiful! Simple things take on a new life with a dab of snow on them, amazing isn't it! And just as His blood covers us, we are completely cleansed in it. Such a beautiful thought! Have a blessed day sweet friend :)

    1. Isn't it gorgeous? I still love it even after all these years. The verse is so incredibly meaningful and the cross stitch design just tugs at my heart, with the hanging scarf and mittens and the snow falling outside the window.

  3. Beautiful photos Mrs T. Here it is raining. Some people said it was sleeting around five. Fortunately that did not last long.:)

  4. Indeed, I did enjoy your photos, and the scriptures verses are perfect for them. I live in an area that does not get much snow, and once in a while we will have an ice storm. though pretty, we are never equipped to handle this type of weather, we have had an extremely rainy winter. Thank you for sharing.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  5. I do enjoy all the snow pictures very much, since we haven't seen a flake so far (coastal SC). And such a lovely verse of scripture and a beautiful sampler.
