As usual, there's no time for a long post, but
I'm taking a few minutes to join Sandra for this link party over at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.
The Weather:::
It's
32º and sunny at 4:30 pm. 10 mph wind so it feels like 23º.
As I look outside my window:::
Lots of snow on the ground in the woods and a very icy driveway. And looking out my window at night one would see what we call "the little fir tree" bravely shining to beat back the dark winter.
Right now I am:::
Thinking and pondering:::
On something presented in this week's Sunday School lesson. This is the study Loving God with All Your Mind by Elizabeth George. In the chapter we went over yesterday in class we were talking about Romans 8:28 and how *all* things work together for good in believers' lives and just what "all things" includes. The point was made in the chapter that "all things" also includes the people in a difficult situation: Whether an individual brings us joy or sorrow, pleasure or pain, comfort or conflict, he or she has come into our lives by the hand of God .. and He uses each and every one for His purposes and for our eventual good. Now this is a very deep thought and a hard one for me to process. Maybe for you too. But we can count on it … some good will come from every relationship, even the most difficult and painful.
On my bedside table:::
A lamp, 2 books, and a pen.
Listening to:::
On the Breakfast plate::: I
do intermittent fasting so don't have breakfast. Lunch was a salad of leaf lettuce, cubed turkey, cheddar cheese and avocado.
On the dinner plate:::

Have a good week Mrs. T. I love the promise of Romans 8:28, that we can know that God works for the good in our lives, even though it might take time for us to see it. Your January table is a pretty one.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have a friend who had a terrible tragedy occur in her family. It's been three years and she is struggling to see how it can possibly be good. I'm trying to encourage her that there is a good purpose and we will eventually see it, though it may take more time than we would like it to.
DeleteI love the thoughts on Romans 8:28. I have a book titled Sandpaper People: Dealing With The Ones Who Rub You The Wrong Way. It's a great reminder how God uses those people to "sand off" our rough edges. I'm planning to reread this book this year as I definitely need a refresher. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI have read that book, Elisha. Very good reminder indeed.
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
You have a lot of checkmarks on your to do list - good for you! That always feels good. Such a cute January banner in your photo:) Did you make that? I was hoping to create something (a banner of some sort) for Valentine's Day...but my creativity seems to have vanished!!
ReplyDeleteIt does feel good!
DeleteI didn't make the January banner; my friend Judy did. I think she used a Cuttlebug machine. She sent it to me for my birthday one year.
I have made very simple Valentine banners. Just cut banner shapes from old book pages or sheet music; glue on hearts cut from red print scrapbooking paper or wrapping paper. I glued a vintage button on each one. Then fold over the top of each one, staple it down to form a casing, and string them on baker's twine. I use 7 of the individual banner shapes to make a garland that fits my windows.
How did the sugar fast go? Had a nice time visiting. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteIt went well. I think it would be ideal if I could just fast from sugar year round and enjoy it only on special occasions. Not sure my hubby would be on board with that ....
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
