Ooh, it all sounds so good; turkey soup and the monterey chicken...how do you do yours? I have a recipe for one but not sure it's the same.

  2. Wow, you're doing a ton of cooking this week, but it all sounds so good! Turkey soup, the pork chops, the monterey chicken and the pasta and calzones. Yum-o!

Have a great day and a terrific week!!!

  3. Hi Ladies,

It sounds like a lot, but most of it is pretty easy. I don't love making turkey soup; it's a long, messy job, but I can rarely bring myself to throw out a turkey carcass with lots of meat left on it. I'm planning to do the work for that on Tuesday, but the broth ideally should sit in the fridge overnight to bring all the fat to the top to make it easily removable. So we'll actually have the soup on Weds. and make that an easy night.

The monterey chicken sounds pretty easy -- spread with barbecue sauce, salt & pepper;bake 25 min. and add some cheese and bacon and bake a bit more; top with scallions. It's supposed to be a Chili's clone recipe. It sounds good, and I'll have baked potatoes and squash in the oven at the same time.

The pasta recipe is a make-ahead; you don't cook the pasta (multigrain penne) first. It's a new one to me also.

The calzones are the only thing that sounds somewhat involved. Could be why I keep moving that menu to the next week!

    God bless,
    Mrs.T

  4. Mrs. T,
I like this idea for Menu Plan Monday and have been doing this on my blog. I've even got the image up, but I got to thinking that maybe I should ask for your permission to use it. I would also like to start a Mr. Linky on this so others could add to it what their menu plans are. Email me if you have any problems with me doing this and I will stop right there. I'm going to proceed on Monday unless I hear otherwise.

  5. Beth,

The Menu Plan Monday graphic is not original with me. It is from Laura at Organizing Junkie, (www.orgjunkie.blogspot.com) who hosts Menu Plan Monday. As far as I know, she has no problem at all with anyone using the graphic or the idea -- she's happy to have anyone who cares to participate. This past Monday she did not have Menu Plan Monday up (I believe she was away) but it should be back this coming Monday.

I'm glad you've decided to do this too. I have found the accountability of having to post a menu plan really helps me!

    God bless,
    Mrs.T
