Just a glimpse

View from a boat
Mr. T and I were able to take a badly needed overnight getaway this past week.  I hope to post more pictures, perhaps tomorrow, but wanted to just put up a glimpse today.  The getaway was short and much of the time was spent with friends, but we felt that God expanded our time and that we packed a lot of refreshment into it.  We are very thankful for the opportunity to get away, even briefly!

    1. We did, Arlene! I hope to post more about it this week. I was thinking of you, remembering that a trip to Maine is on your bucket list!

  2. Dear Mrs. T.:
Your view was amazing. I think it is always so wonderful to get to stay at a B & B. that alone is a vacation! So glad you had this special time.

    1. You're right, Bernideen. This is only the second time we have had the opportunity to stay at a B&B (the same one twice, this time and previously in 2014). It was indeed very relaxing and our hostess was SO gracious. We ate breakfast at a table on the front lawn amid trees and flowers. Lovely. We are so thankful.

  3. It is so important to get away from it all every now and then. Now that you're refreshed, you can move forward to the next thing. It looks like a very pretty place where you stayed...calm and peaceful.

    1. You are right, Vee. I knew we were both tired and stressed, but wasn't sure just 2 days away would help all that much, particularly with the travel time involved. But it was indeed very refreshing. I do feel, as you mentioned, ready to tackle the next thing.

And yes, a very pretty place where we stayed. Even though it is on a fairly busy street, the waterfront area is down in back of the B&B and is quiet and peaceful. We walked everywhere we wanted to go (other than our boat trip out to an island, but we walked to the boat!).

  4. Hubby and I took an overnight trip as well this weekend. Even though it was one night, just the change of scenery and being alone was wonderful. Amazing what just one day to get away from the normal routine can do. And I know you have spoken about caring or parents. Mine has her ups and downs.

    1. Sandy, I am glad you had the opportunity to get away for an overnight too. Yes, I am amazed what just one overnight and a change of scene can do.

My dad is currently in a rehab and that is how we were able to get away overnight. What a blessing.
