My winter Pinterest boards

Although winter is not my favorite season (I would choose autumn, summer, winter, and spring, in that order), it does have a beauty all its own which I very much appreciate.  One of my favorite Bible verses is Genesis 8:22 ~ "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

There are also some beautifully descriptive verses about winter in the book of Job:
"Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow?  or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail ...?"
(Job 38:22)

"The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen."  (Job 38:30)

Psalm 148 tells us how all that God has created praises Him, including "Fire, and hail; snow, and vapor;  stormy wind fulfilling His word."  (Psalm 148:8)
In New England,  winter can be very cold and snowy, and sometimes quite dark.  So many people add light and sparkle to their homes with white lights, candles, snowmen, snowflakes, icicles, and more.

Today, just in case some are in the mood to browse Pinterest, I thought I would share my winter-themed boards with you.

My Winter Pinterest board is one of the first boards that I created.  It has everything from gorgeous winter scenes to decorating ideas to hot cocoa recipes!

Inspired by a post that my friend Vee wrote concerning seasonal decorating (and much more; you'll just have to read it for yourself!), I decided to create a second winter board  with decorating ideas.  Here is the link to that one: My Winter Decorating Inspiration Pinterest board.

Happy browsing, pinning and decorating!

  1. Well that was fun! Tried to pin a few that I already had. Amazing how we read something as "new." Thanks for all the inspirations and thank you for pinning at my place...very sweet of you!

  2. You are very welcome, Vee! Thank YOU for writing that inspiring post. Such a blessing to me. I hope a few readers will click over and check it out.

Yes, isn't that funny how we think we haven't seen a pin before and in fact, we had already pinned it? I don't know about you, but I find that sometimes Pinterest doesn't remember it either! I think it may depend on which browser I am using.

    Have a blessed weekend!

  3. I have to say winter is not my favorite season and I don't really decorate for it living in Florida. We do have what I call cold :) in the Panhandle. I have changed my views of it somewhat over the years as I really do think the short days and cold weather gives us time to really rest.

  4. I doubt I would decorate for winter either if I lived in Florida, Sandy. At least not much. That's a great thought about the cooler weather and shorter days giving time to really rest. We get up at 4:30 a.m. and my hubby works Saturdays in winter so it doesn't work that way too well for us. We do try and get to bed early too, though.

  5. I loved the verses you shared about winter in the Bible. I will have to check out your pinterest boards, that is always fun to do :) Winter can be dark and dreary, I agree, and a good time to catch up on rest, indeed! Hugs to you today :)

  6. I love winter since I moved to Texas, over 30 years ago, and then comes, autumn, spring and summer. I decorate seasonally, and have my Valentine decor up now.
Thank you for your kind visit to my blog, Mrs. T!

    1. You are welcome, Kitty. I'll probably put my Valentine decor up later this week. Thanks for your visit! Somewhere I have a photo of my oldest granddaughter with a tray of those same cookies that you featured on your blog. I think she was 5 or 6 at the time.
