This week hasn’t been the greatest for crafting accomplishments, but I’ve done a few things. First of all, here are 2 dishcloths -- one in the “Lemon-Lime” color and one in the “Orange Sherbet” color. I think they are very summery looking.
Then, here is one more dishcloth -- must admit I tossed the label on this one before I could note the name of the color. Pretty, anyway.
And lastly, since my previous attempt at turning an apple calendar towel into a table square turned out so well, I decided to try it with a blueberry calendar towel. Sort of cute.
If you'd like to have some help and encouragement in keeping up with your crafting efforts, stop in at
Shereen's blog and take part in Sew Crafty Fridays.
In addition this week, I’ve done some preliminary work on a gift I’m going to sew, and also done some more on my cross stitch “Country Baking” sampler and worked some on the last flour sack dishtowel in this set. I’m hoping for a more productive week next week!
I love the dishcloths! I can never have enough crocheted dishcloths. Can you tell me the link to the pattern?
ReplyDeleteVery crafty! Are your dishcloths knit or crocheted? I really like the colors too! :o)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! :o)
Oh I love the colors of the dishclothes. So bright and happy.

Oh I agree. THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL! I too would LOVE a link to the pattern (if no link, then can you tell us the book)? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi ladies,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked the dishcloths. They are crocheted. I have just done a separate post which will give you the link for the directions plus give a couple of helpful hints as to hook size.
Hope you try this pattern and that it works well for you!
God bless,
Mrs.T
You know, I thought I posted a comment on your dishcloths last week, but I guess I got to reading some of your older posts, and then I clicked on the link for the pattern, and off I went clicking. I forgot to leave you a comment. lol I think these are the cutest dishcloths I have seen. To tell you the truth, I like the ones with the different color edging on it. I think it gives it a complete finished look. Thanks for sharing. I have lots of cotton yarn that I can't wait to try it on. I know you think you didn't do a lot, but I beg to differ my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow your dishcloths are great, really like the bright colors, the ones I am trying to make aren't as pretty because I am making them for gifts and trying to match them closely to the colors the recepients have in their kitchens, boring old colors!! How many have you made so far?? I am on #10 need about 24..thanks for the nice comments you left on my blog...

Hi ladies --
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you here at my kitchen table again!!
Shereen, thanks for your kind words about the dishcloths. I really have to give all of the credit to Dannielle's wonderful pattern. I have made dishcloths before, but this is the nicest pattern I have used. They *do* look nice with the contrasting edging, but white won't work with every color, I don't think. For the orange sherbet one for example, I think if I were to use a contrasting edging I would want to use yellow or peach. I like the look of the dishcloths done without the contrast, too. They are just plain fun to make however you do them. Since you have quite a stash of cotton yarn, you can make them up however you choose. I will be looking forward to seeing what you come up with! And thanks again for hosting these Sew Crafty Fridays. I have been wanting to get in on that for quite awhile and am so glad I finally did!
Joann, Thanks for your kind words as well! I understand completely why you would need to match the dishcloth colors to the recipients' kitchens. I am just playing around with colors and having fun. I will use some of these for gifts as well. I don't have a goal for how many to make, but I have made 6 so far. Have just started a 7th one in shades of green. They do work up very fast.
Have a great day, everyone!
God bless,
Mrs.T
