Our friend Dave has done it again. He knows that I love and collect vintage cookbooks, so he keeps an eye open when he is out and about. Look at this gem! It was published in 1961.

The book is illustrated by Tom Funk, so I assume that the cover art is his work as well. Simply beautiful! It's a treasure, all right. Don't you agree?
I love the artwork in the vintage books. The sixties artwork takes me back to my childhood!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Arlene. I think it is not just that it takes me back to my childhood, but that it takes me back to a simpler, seemingly happier time.
ReplyDeleteWow - that is a great find! It reminds me of some children's cookbooks that my mom had when we were younger that she had kept from her childhood. My sister & I used to experiment with them on the long summer days when Mom was working. It makes me think of happier, simpler times, too.
ReplyDeleteOh, Mary Ann, what wonderful memories to have of your childhood! I am glad that this triggered a happy (though probably bittersweet) memory for you! These cookbooks do the same for me. I learned to cook using the Betty Crocker Cookbook for Boys and Girls!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way about vintage artwork! These are wonderful! Thank you for letting us take a look at them!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Mrs. Smith! I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures!
