Show & Tell Friday for July 24
For Show & Tell today, I want to share some of how our bathroom improvements turned out. I only wish I had taken some "before" photos so you can see what a huge improvement it actually is. The sink was an antique cast iron job, nearly impossible to clean. The wallpaper was damaged from years of people washing their hands and splattering the walls. It was not only stained but actually shredded in places. We removed the wallpaper and primed the walls and painted them off white. Then we put up a shell-themed wallpaper border. As I mentioned last week, I made this little "valance" to continue the border above the window. The previous wallpaper had a theme of old-fashioned ships on it, so I had some shell-themed items in this bathroom already. I had planned for a long time that if we could ever make any changes here, I would just keep the seashell theme and hope I could find a border to match. I was so pleased to find one in Walmart.
This is a sink we were given. Isn't it amazing there is a little seashell indentation for the soap? And this is the seashell wreath made by my friend Paula many years ago. It hung in the old bathroom, but look how amazingly the ribbon matches the color in the wallpaper border! That is my simple Show & Tell for today. To see what others have shared for Show & Tell Friday, head on over to There is No Place Like Home.
Very nice project. You did a great job with that. It is great how the Lord gives you just what you need at just the right time. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you for sharing. I really like the sea shell wreath. My daughter has been working on her bathroom also. She has a sea theme and a dolphin shower curtain. The wreath would go good in her deco also. I will see if I can get her to share it when she comes back from vacation. I like your valance you made. Have a blessed week.
Thanks, ladies, for all of the kind, encouraging words about this project. We did have fun putting everything together and just seeing how God had provided so much for such a pleasing result. Truly, He cares about every detail of our lives!
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit my kitchen table! I love company here in my kitchen, so be sure to leave a comment so I'll know you've visited! I'll answer your questions and comments here on the blog unless you request otherwise.
I live in scenic northern New England with my handsome husband. We're empty-nesters with a bunch of adorable grandchildren. We love (tent) camping and traveling, but don't get away as often as we'd like to.
