Lovely lupines

The lupines that bloom at Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, this time every year are legendary.  Mr. T and I have never had the opportunity to be there at just the right time to see them.   This morning we went out to breakfast with friends at this iconic place: Polly's Pancake Parlor, and thus we were in the right place at the right time.

After breakfast our friends showed us a favorite,  back-road spot from which to view the lupines.  The photos are from that place.

Hope you've enjoyed these photos of God's glorious creation in a beautiful part of our state!

  1. What a blessing to behold such "lovely lady lupines". I miss seeing them. We do have a cousin of theirs that blooms early in spring, but not in very many places here, and you have to know what you are looking for and where to find it. It is also kin to the Texas Blue bonnet, I believe. Thank you for sharing with us. I do miss seeing the beauties of spring and summer flowers in New Hampshire and Maine.

  2. Here is a link to a post that I wrote about our "lady lupines" here in Florida: https://pamelasopenwindow.blogspot.com/2020/02/mid-week-breath-of-fresh-air.html As I said, they are a "cousin" of your lupines, and we don't have very many of them. I was blessed to discover these.

  3. Lovely! Yes, I have a spot, not as fine as Sugar Hill. Now I must take a drive to see them. You must like the story of Miss Rumpious by Barbara Cooney. I do!

  4. What beautiful pictures. And what a great way to spend a spring morning - with friends over breakfast and them sharing a special spot.
