A few verses from Psalm 37

Lamoille Canyon, Nevada
As mentioned earlier, I am keeping my morning times in God's Word very simple during these weeks.  I'm doing simple Scripture journaling and finding it a real blessing in these enjoyable but hectic days.

Last Thursday I was reading in Psalm 37, verses 5 through 9 and found it such an encouragement for my particular situation.  Maybe it will be a blessing to someone else as well.

"Commit thy  way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.
"And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; fret not thyself  because of  him who  prospereth in  his way, because of the  man  who   bringeth wicked devices to pass.
"Cease from anger and forsake wrath; fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
"For evildoers shall be cut off; but those  that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth."

I found these to be  very encouraging  verses in light of  many of the  things I'm currently dealing with  in my life.  I can ...
* commit it all to  the Lord
* trust in Him
*rest in  Him
* wait patiently for Him
* refrain from fretting about anything
* cease from anger
* forsake wrath
.. because God will  bring it to pass.  He  will give clear guidance and direction  and will enable me to keep a shining testimony through  it all.

I'm  encouraged.  I hope that you are  too!

  2. Those are encouraging words. One of our pastors calls the Psalms Happy Meals. If you do not have time to chew on God's Word, head to the Psalms. He is right...they are very nourishing and uplifting.

  3. Happy meals ... that's a good general description! I suppose the same could be said of Proverbs.

  5. You're welcome, Stephanie!

    You are so right about God's Word being a refreshment. We've been traveling through the night and I haven't had my quiet time yet. Really missing that.😯
