Friday five for January 24

My, the Fridays do roll around quickly -- and now there is only one week left of January!  How time does fly!  Let's see ...

1.  A wonderful birthday celebration with our daughter's family last Sunday.  15-year-old Sam made my birthday cake, and it was chocolate, chocolate, and chocolate!  Family fun, a scrumptious meal, lovely gifts, and a game of Cover Your Assets plus that amazing cake!  Carrie got a picture of it, I know -- hope she will send it to me so I can share.
This was from Thanksgiving, I think, but it's the same game.
2.  Being able to make some travel plans for early summer and our visit to Nevada, Utah and Arizona.  Getting the airline ticket piece of the puzzle taken care of!  Photo below was from summer 2018 at Bruneau Dunes State Park, I believe.

3.  Lovely weather for walking this week.  We walked every day, I think.

4.  Seeing answered prayer this week.  Our friends' baby was sick and many people were praying for him.  He still isn't 100%, but it was amazing to see how prayer was answered in that he felt better so quickly and was able to sleep well, enabling his mom to get the necessary sleep to look after him well in the coming days.

5.  Getting to see a local production of Annie with my hubby last evening.  It was his idea to get tickets, and he rarely suggests such a thing.  The show was simply amazing, with the part of Sandy being played by a real dog, and snow falling on the audience and actors at the end, and so much amazing singing, acting, and dancing in between.  We had so much fun and were so glad we had gone!

And there's the Friday five for this week!

    1. It really was an amazing production, Vee. This is the first of these ETC productions that we have attended, but I'm pretty sure it won't be the last.

Yes, Cover Your Assets is a great game. I can actually play it! I hate games with strategy and I suppose this has some strategy to it, but not much. At least not the way I play it! Little Arielle (5) understands this game perfectly and is really good at it even though she isn't an expert reader yet. But it's a game we all enjoy. I always forget how to start, but everyone is a good sport about that.

Travel plans working out ... yes, it's so good to have the tickets all figured out. Campground plans are being worked out on the other end.

  2. Sounds like a great week. Would love to see Annie. My niece played the part of Annie many years ago in a production in Charlotte, NC. She was great. Your snow looks so lovely! Playing games with the family is such a great winter pasttime. We've done a little of that here lately too. Not familiar with that game, however. Was it your birthday? Happy Birthday! That trip you are planning sounds wonderful!! We are hoping to come up to Maine in October, Lord willing, to celebrate our only grandson's 21st birthday. I hope we can figure it all out. Our son and dil from here want to go also. We love Maine/NH in October! Have a blessed weekend.

    1. Yes, it was my birthday and was a nice time. The trip will be very nice, I think, though the first part of it will involve tent camping which we haven't done in awhile. Hotels are always an option for us older folks if need be, but we will give the tenting a try as we've been wanting to get back to it anyway.

The details of a trip are always challenging. Hope yours works out too!

Annie was fantastic. These ETC productions are always wonderful, from what I understand, though this is the first one we've seen. Lots of local talent in our communities!

  3. Happy Birthday, Mrs. T! If I understand, it was last week? Your description of the Annie production sounds really terrific. I hope you have a great week ahead. :)

    1. Yes, it was the 13th, but it was the 19th by the time we celebrated. And that was fine! Yes, Annie was really great. So well done. We really enjoyed it.
