Friday five ~ September 20

Gorgeous graphic by Abby at Little Birdie Blessings</a>
Friday again, and time to count some blessings from the week!  Here goes:

1.  Last weekend's ladies' retreat at The Wilds of New England

Mardi Collier was the speaker, and she spoke on the Lord as our Good Shepherd.  You may think that sounds like a topic you are already well acquainted with, but you would be surprised how much more there is to learn.  I hope to write a post next week about the entire weekend, but for now I'll just say that the Bible teaching, the music, the food, the fellowship, and the surroundings were all simply wonderful.  A truly blessed time.

2.  A wonderful time of fellowship and Bible study with our young friends Sam and Jennifer, over Sunday night supper at their home.
Another lovely graphic from Little Birdie Blessings

3.  A nice long nap.  Although I didn't mention it above, I got virtually no sleep on Friday night.  A surprising 2 1/2 hour nap on Monday afternoon helped me catch up a bit.

4.  Time spent with a cousin at this wonderful place(photo is from a previous autumn)

We sat on the porch and enjoyed watching hummingbirds while gazing at the pond and chatting.  I finished up a hot mat I was crocheting, also.

5.  A large paperwork task cleared off my plate.  Still several more to go, but I'm happy this one is done with.

And there's my Friday five for this week.  Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

  3. Very nice except for the lack of sleep night. Those take a toll. Glad you could catch up with a nap on Monday. How pleasant to visit with a cousin at the lake. Visits that include handwork are nice. Was your cousin also working on a project? Have a wonderful weekend...

    1. Yep, it did take a toll. I would have loved to go back to the second retreat yesterday and Friday, but the first one took too great a toll sleepwise and also physically. Lots of walking, much of it uphill. It took me all week to catch up! However, had my granddaughter been able to attend the second one, I would have done it regardless.

No, my cousin wasn't working on a project. She had some projects with her, but I think they were paperwork and best completed in solitude. We did talk about crocheting, however. She used to enjoy it greatly but when her kids came along she stopped doing it. I suggested that now, with the empty nest looming, might be a good time to take up needlework again.

  4. Your retreat must have been absolutely wonderful at the Wildes, and such a terrific speaker.
Beautiful shot of the lake and your time there must have been delightful?

    1. The retreat was wonderful, Debbie, and yours sounded great as well. I'm guessing you have heard Mardi Collier before? The sessions with her were such a blessing.

Yes, time at the pond was lovely but just too short. I had quite a deadline looming so could only stay a couple of hours.

Abby's photos are always beautiful, aren't they? She is so generous to share her photos and graphics with blogdom.

  5. What a great week Mrs T. I look forward to seeing and hearing about your Wilds Trip. Some local friends attended the 50th anniversary of The Wilds in NC. Looked like a great time was had by all.
