Show & Tell Friday for May 1

Hello, everyone! Sorry to have missed Show & Tell last week. This week I want to share a few of my favorite childhood cookbooks.

This Betty Crocker Cookbook for Boys & Girls was a huge favorite of mine. It's falling apart. I've made many of the recipes over the years.

Here's a view of the inside of the book. This is the book that truly sparked my love for cooking. It was a gift from my parents, and as I look back I marvel that my mother allowed me to mess about in the kitchen as much as she did.

Here is another favorite. Mary Alden was apparently a trademark of the Quaker Oats company. This has a copyright of 1955.

A look inside. This was a favorite recipe, and notice how gorgeously this book is illustrated. The recipes are done in a very graphical style for young cooks.

Another well loved book. This one is a publication of Carnation Company, and is also copyrighted in 1955. I cooked a lot from this one, too.

A view of the inside. This was a favorite page of mine! I made the strawberry pie pictured, numerous times.

This little cookbook was not mine, but I couldn't resist sharing it. It's a little seafood recipe book made by my husband in elementary school!

And that is my simple Show & Tell for today. To see what others have shared for Show & Tell Friday, head on over to There is No Place Like Home.

Happy Show & Tell Friday!
