First garden veggies

Today we enjoyed the first harvest from this year's vegetable garden with supper. I made a smoked sausage and potato salad, a favorite easy recipe, for supper and served our garden Swiss chard on the side. Delicious! There is nothing like those first tastes from the garden every year. The lettuce is about ready to pick, too, and our tomato plants have little tomatoes on them!

  1. Yum! My garden didn't do so well. I think I planted too late in the season, but we had a crazy spring (cold and wet) into an immediate hot, hot summer. Oh, well, next year.

Thanks for your comments. You sound like a good grandma, helping your granddaughter to prepare for life

  2. Hi!

Thanks for stopping by! My garden isn't great either, but that Swiss chard was definitely a treat. I do need to get out there and so some more weeding, but it's very hot up here too -- though not as hot as in the midwest.

    Thanks for the grandparenting encouragement!

    God bless,
    Mrs. T

  3. Sounds tasty. I have had lettuce and kale along with a few peas and an abundance of radishes.

Hope you have a wonderful "warm" weekend.

  4. Oh, it sure is warm! I am thankful we have a swimming pool and that this weekend we can use it for the first time this year.

Mr.T picked some lettuce too, today, and we need to harvest some more Swiss chard. Our first try planting that, but won't be the last!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit my kitchen table! I love company here in my kitchen, so be sure to leave a comment so I'll know you've visited! I'll answer your questions and comments here on the blog unless you request otherwise.
