Over at Life on a Back Road, I read with interest Carrie's post on January Goals. She has done what I should have done in setting my own goals; what most people other than me have already thought of -- breaking down the yearly goals into doable monthly increments. (I jumped straight from my yearly goals into setting my weekly goals.) So, a little late, I am going to post some January goals myself.
JANUARY GOALS
* Read through the gospel of Matthew and into the book of Mark, journaling as I go.
* Read 6 chapters in How to Build Your Home on Holy Ground
* Memorize at least 4 Bible verses and review some older ones.
* Finish next chapter of 1 Samuel Bible study book
* Exercise at least 20 times.
* Get to bed by 10 pm each night.
* Limit sugar.
* Drink enough water each day.
* Keep up with Kelly's missions in homemaking zones of the week.
* Check out airline tickets for trip to NV in spring.
* Spend several hours updating my A-store.
* Read 4 chapters in 1/2 Price Living.
* Blog at least 20-25 times
* Make at least a dozen items for sale at craft fairs.
* Write at least 4 encouraging notes to friends and family.
* Finish some UFO craft projects for the home.
* Finish making gift tags from last year's Christmas cards.
* Finish several handcrafted birthday gifts for March and April birthdays.
I have already started on these, of course. For example, I've written several encouraging notes and I have exercised 9 times already. Now, we will see how I do with the remainder of the month!

ReplyDeleteMrs T, I've been meaning to write a few notes and for some reason, I just don't sit down to do it. I will move this task to the top of my list!
ReplyDeleteHi ladies!
ReplyDeleteLast week, I managed to write several encouraging (I hope!) notes to friends. It was a great feeling to have taken time to do that.
Thanks to both of you for stopping in at my kitchen table. It's always a delight to see you here. Happy January to you both!
I greatly enjoy reading your goals! They are such an encouragement!!
ReplyDeleteI am curious about the book you are reading, How to Build Your Home on Holy Ground? Sorry if I missed a link to it ... I do that often :(.
Hope you are having a blessed week :).
Happy wife, I hope your family is feeling much better by now. Sure sounds as if you have had a pretty rough time of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were encouraged by my goals! They are simple but it's all I can do to keep up with them (somewhat).
As for the book -- How to Build Your Home on Holy Ground is the subtitle. The actual title is Finding Your Purpose as a Mom and the book is by Donna Otto. I purchased it because I had heard Donna Otto speak on a radio program and was really blessed by what she shared. I thought the book might be an encouragement to young moms in my life but I wanted to read it first before recommending it. The book is really excellent (at least as much as I have read so far -- I am about halfway through it) and I am finding myself encouraged and challenged by it even at this time of life. So anyway -- I hope that helps. I found my copy used on Amazon.
No, you didn't miss any links. I hope to post a review of the book when I finish it and will share a link then.
I am looking forward to your review :).
ReplyDeleteWe still have lots of coughing going on and some stomach issues, but thankfully I think we are on the other side of it :).
I meant to mention in my last comment that your A -store link does not work. I had to ask Carrie what an A store was when I saw her :).
Thank you again!
Hi again, 1happywife!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you think you are on the upward side of the sickness. I hope Nikki and Josh and their family are doing better now as well.
I did just try the A-store link and it worked for me. (I think you have to click right on the words Kitchen Table Collection.) It took me right to it and I was able to move around and look at the various categories, so I think it must be working. I will take another look tomorrow, as I need to get serious with it. I don't think anyone has ever bought anything there, but there's always a first time, right?
Hope your family continues to feel better!
