February goals

Yes, it's a new month and time to set some goals for February:

* Memorize at least 4 Bible verses and review some older ones
* Work on a Scripture writing plan for my quiet time
* Post in my blogs as often as possible
* Continue our discipleship study with new believers
* Provide Sunday lunch hospitality for pulpit supply couples at least once this month
* Meet up with old friends at Cracker Barrel
* Continue to help our widowed friend Terry with the challenges of life in general
* Continue study for Sunday School -- A Woman Who Reflects the Heart of Jesus
* Get to bed by 9 pm each night
* Get serious about limiting sugar
* Pay much more attention to drinking enough water each day
* Read several books
 * Walk and/or exercise at least 4 times each week
* Keep up with Flylady's homemaking zones of the week (with some help from Clean Mama)
* Do something creative each day
* Continue planning for family birthday gifts and crafting any handmade ones
* Craft some homemade Christmas gifts and decorations
* Spend a little time on some UFO craft projects
* Continue stocking my Etsy shop and continue selling vintage items
* Work on Etsy and trust bookkeeping as necessary
* Write at least 4 encouraging notes to friends and family
* Do some planning for retirement
* Help and encourage my local daughter as I'm able
* Continue to encourage and support my hubby as he works through a pastoral search for our church
* Clean church and set up for fellowship time; help provide snacks
* Continue to sort out and declutter my dad's house, hopefully taking many loads to the dump and thrift store and consolidating the remaining items yet to dispose of;  work on estate
* Plan meals with a greater emphasis on healthy eating

  1. I need to up my water intake as well Mrs T. I seem to have hit a plateau in my wt loss so hoping to be more diligent in leaving off sweets this next month. As it is getting warmer here as well, walking is much easier. I get my silver sneakers in May so I will have gym access that will make walking in winter easier.

  2. I am looking ruefully at my water bottle even now. I’s been sitting here since this morning. I am running circles all around it. Okay. It’s gone! One cup of water, five more to go. (Yes, my doc said she’d be pleased with 4 to 6 cups of water. I do try to please her.)

You always have such a thorough list.

Oh my! I found another cleaning tip to confuse me. I do the basics with Marla, but some of the nitty~gritty stuff, I’m thinking my new way might work. I’ll give it a whirl and see then review on my blog.

  3. In our younger years before retirement I would have been sharing your needs for a pastor with my husband and we would have been sending you a resume' and praying for the opportunity to serve! However, we are retired now, and living in Florida, and our years of wanting to live in NH (New England) are kind of behind us. But we can certainly pray for your congregation as you seek the man that God has chosen to serve in that capacity. In God's perfect timing he will show up and you will know he is who God has chosen for you. I totally understand how difficult this search can be having been through it many times from the point of view of the potential pastoral candidate, as well as having worked in churches who were searching. May the Lord direct you and give you a clear sense of His leading no matter what. Now, as to your other goals...they are certainly ambitious, but I am sure you will accomplish those that are, again, in God's plan and timing, as He enables you to do. That's one thing I've learned about goal-setting...my plans are not always God's plans for me. He sometimes leads me in a totally different direction that what I was thinking...but that is where I want to be! May the Lord bless you and keep you and give you strength for each new day to accomplish all that He ordains for you to do. Amen!! Now, go have a blessed and beautiful day!!!

  4. Enjoyed comparing the two lists, Dear Lady, I'd say you are well ahead of the game. I too am a list maker, though mine is not as well planed and through as your lists are! Thank you for the motivation, I so admire the gift of hospitality that you and your dear husband have, you make such a great team.
Thank you for your always encouraging posts.
    Blessings,
    Sue
