A fun tea towel project

Lots to do today, but wanted to quickly stop in and share these photos of a fun embroidery/sewing project I did recently. This cute little vintage camper design is from the Camp Out! collection of transfers by Sublime Stitching. I stitched them up on flour sack towels for my friend J.'s birthday. She and her hubby actually own a vintage travel trailer, so it seemed like the perfect design for her. I trimmed the towels with a scalloped fabric border, my first try at such a technique, so they sure aren't perfect, but did turn out cute. I did the designs in two different color combinations, to coordinate with the fabrics I chose for the scalloped trim. Love the awning and the cute string of decorative lights on the camper!

These were so much fun to make. Hope to do more for Christmas gifts.

  4. Thanks, Mary Ann! There was supposed to be rickrack over the top seam of the edging, which would have been even cuter, but I was in a hurry to finish this project in time and decided it still looked fine without the rickrack. I love the design, too. It was just plain fun to stitch!
