Another scorcher

Not complaining, you understand.  Just whining a little.  We are really spoiled up here in New England most of the time.  Winters are cold and snowy but beautiful.  Spring can sometimes be close to non-existent, with lots of mud, but at least we know nicer weather is on the way, along with lots of wildflowers.  Fall is beautiful, with nearly perfect weather and gorgeous colored foliage.  Summer is usually very nice, with flowers and greenery everywhere and plenty of breezy sunny days.  And then there are those days like we've experienced yesterday and today.  Just. Plain. Hot.  And humid!

That's when I have to remind myself of Psalm 74:17 where the psalmist says of God, "Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter."  And I have to further remind myself that "This is the day which the LORD hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it."  (Psalm 118:24).

I have to further remind myself that I have a "no whining" rule at my house.  Apparently Grammy needs an attitude adjustment!

Tomorrow is forecasted to be slightly cooler.  And I won't complain a bit if it is!

  1. It seems that you all have had hotter weather than we have Mrs T. So far the humdity has not been too bad and that is wonderful when it is almost July in the South.

  2. Wow, Arlene, that is wonderful indeed! I'm glad that the heat and humidity have not been as bad as usual for you there in Alabama. We may possibly get a thunderstorm here today. That would help, I'm sure.

  3. It has been like an oven here in Indiana for a couple of weeks now. A cold front came through last night & we won't be in the 90's today but we need rain. Pretty badly. I've been reminding myself to pray for it because the only place to get the rain is from the Lord :-) Thankfully it hasn't been to humid here. The heat & humidity are really hard to take when you're not used to it. I hope you get some relief over the weekend!

  4. I hope so too, Mary Ann. And I'll pray that Indiana will get some rain! Thanks for reminding me that there are places that have it worse than we do. I know that, of course, but it's good to have a reminder from someone who is experiencing something worse.
