WORD FOR 2016: FAITHFULNESS
And here's how September went:
*Write out a passage from God's Word each day. DONE!
* Memorize at least 4 Bible verses and review some older ones. DONE!
* Add 4 pages to my "What Do I Know About My God?" Scripture notebook -- not done
* Continue study for Sunday School -- Following God With All Your Heart DONE!
* Exercise or walk at least 20 times -- not done
* Get to bed by 9:30 pm each night -- not done consistently, but we're making progress!
* Limit sugar and red meat -- doing well with limiting meat, not so well with the sugar.
* Drink enough water each day -- not done consistently
* Keep up with Kelly's missions in homemaking zones of the week -- not done consistently
* Post in both of my blogs as often as possible -- DONE! for the regular blog, not so much for the Christmas one
* Take a fun day trip with our local daughter and her family DONE!
* Plan and create gifts for November birthdays -- not done
* Plan, create and send a gift for a September birthday DONE! (I opted to simply plan and send)
* Write at least 4 encouraging notes to friends and family DONE!
* Help and encourage my local daughter as I'm able -- not as much as I'd like
* Clean church and set up for potluck meal DONE!
* Attend a ladies' retreat DONE!
* Attend a mother/daughter retreat DONE!

SEPTEMBER'S HEALTHY HABITS: Drink enough water/exercise/eat healthfully -- these habits still need work so I'm repeating them in October.
WORD FOR 2016: FAITHFULNESS
You hit a lot of your marks! You list writers and goal oriented folks put me to shame.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement, Vee! But I don't really think that I put you to shame. You may not be big on writing lists, but you do get a lot accomplished!
DeleteFor myself, if I did not set goals or write lists, I wouldn't get anything done. I'd be just sitting here letting life happen. So for me, it's become a necessity to set goals and get things in writing.
It is a good thing to write down goals...otherwise we tend to spin our wheels or get distracted. One of my October goals is to clean out our garage. It has been so hot that I have not attempted it. I have some outside trim that needs painting before cold weather arrives. So I need to hop to it.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Arlene. As we've all heard many times, if you aim at nothing, you'll hit it every time. And if I didn't write down goals, I'd be aiming at nothing for sure. The older I get the more concerned I become that I fulfill the purposes God has for me in this life. So for me lists are an essential to reaching those purposes.
DeleteI wouldn't want to be cleaning out a garage in Alabama heat either. The cleaning I have done at my dad's on the very hot humid days was bad enough!
