A vintage card from my collection; the snip of red ribbon is real! |
It's been one of those crazy, busy days with just too much going on, it seems. Yet I do know that God orders our days and that He promises to give us strength in just the right measure for each day.
For today's post I thought I would just quickly share a few pages from my small collection of Christmas carol books. These little books -- leaflets, really -- were often distributed by insurance companies, etc. to their customers. When I went Christmas caroling with a youth group in my early teens, we all used these sorts of books -- only by then they were not as colorful or as lavishly illustrated. These books are older and much more beautiful. I believe I shared pictures of these on my Christmas blog but have not done so here previously.

Hope you have enjoyed this look at a few of the Christmas carol book pages!
I've never seen Christmas carol books like these! They'd be so fun to sing from. The pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAren't they just lovely? I am so blessed to have been given these. Years ago when I taught art and did a lot of projects with kids, several people gave me boxes of old Christmas cards. These lovely old carol books were mixed in with them. I will have to look and see if I can find a copyright or other date. The ones I remember from my own childhood were basic black & white with a touch of red on the cover.
