December 21

It has been a different day.  Mr. T had the entire day off due to rainy weather.  We woke up to about 4 inches of wet, heavy snow, which turned to rain and continued as rain the rest of the day.  Since he was home, the entire day has felt like Saturday!  Very odd, but it was nice anyway.

I managed to get most of the Christmas cards written and sent out today.  It feels great to have that task accomplished.

Since he had the day off, Mr. T spent a good bit of the day in the kitchen.  He made hot chocolate bark, gluten free gingersnaps (we had run out) and gluten free Russian teacakes.  He also prepared these:

oreo-type cookies drizzled with white chocolate and sprinkled with crushed candy canes.  I will try and share the link tomorrow, but you get the idea.  Oh, and with the leftover toppings he made a small amount of peppermint bark.

Meanwhile, I worked on handcrafted gifts and finished four of them!  All items for grandkids, these had been in various stages of completion but now they are done!  Any Christmas crafting I do from here on out (this year) will be strictly for fun.  It's a great feeling to have the handmade gifts pretty much finished.  Now I can start wrapping!

  2. It is always so nice to have the hubby home for a day. :) Often Josh is home during the day due to the hrs. he works but he is not usually inside. :( All that baking sounds like fun. Your crafty sounds fun too. I hope you can share pictures later.

  4. Thanks, everyone! It is so good to see you all here at my kitchen table. I was indeed thankful to have Mr. T available to do all that baking. I love to bake, but really didn't mind him taking over since he had the time off from work.

I'm sure his help in the kitchen is one of the main reasons I was able to finish all of my handmade gifts with time to spare. I did make some aprons on Christmas Eve morning, but they were a fun and easy project.

And yes, I will post pictures of the crafted gifts soon. Some of them are still on the camera and we've been having a few issues transferring pictures to the computer, so it may take a few days!

    Thanks for visiting!
